The juror noted the following statement about her work: "Judith Kaplan's
color field yellowish painting 'Beginnings' brings a fresh and bright
visualization of the idea of a fresh start. Out of those
315 works of art, 85 artworks by 54 different artists were awarded "Special
Recognition" designations, 3 were awarded "Director's Recognition"
designations and 2 were awarded "Awards of Excellence.

Including Judith Kaplan, six of the artists are from Florida: Anna
Goraczko, Miami; Ximena Delgado, Miami Beach; Chrystal Bates, Boynton
Beach; Daniel Long, Gainesville; and John Westmark, Gainesville.

The challenge is a composite of multi-levels, offering clues to "Cross
Bones" over a period of four weeks where visitors of the site can enter to
win the grand prize of an opportunity, of having their name appear as a
character in an upcoming Kathy Reichs novel! Visitors will also have the
opportunity to win autographed copies of the "Cross Bones," autographed
copies of Kathy Reichs' previous books and other prizes. Ms. Kaplan is listed in Who's Who of American Women among
other Who's Who directories .
