well-known fine art photographer , will premiere his inspiring photos taken in
Albania and Kosova of the families who rescued Jews during World War II, which
will be exhibited at Yad Vashem, in Jerusalem, next fall. (Applause. But with their candles and
prayers, the people of Bratislava lit a fire for freedom that day, a fire that
quickly spread across the land. You regained your sovereignty and independence. You built a
successful democracy. For the Iraqi people, this is their 1989, and they
will always remember who stood with them in their quest for freedom. Iraqis have demonstrated their courage and their determination
to live in freedom, and that has inspired the world. Eventually, the call of liberty comes to every mind and every

Europe, who risked their lives -- and succeeded -- to save thousands of Jews
from the horrors of the Holocaust. The Albanian rescuers, overwhelmingly of
the Islamic faith, acted out of the Albanian tradition known as Besa -- an
ancient code of honor that obliges Albanians to save the life of anyone
seeking refuge, even if it means risking one's own life. The
authorities succeeded in crushing that protest. They will from a new
government, draft a democratic constitution, and govern themselves as free
people. They know they have no
future in a free Iraq .
