SCE to Cosponsor Workshop on Native American Economic Development


The "Native Nations" summit will build on the work done at a 2003
workshop held in the Owens Valley and sponsored by SCE and the Bishop
Paiute Tribe. This is a historic contract since it is the first time a
Canadian First Nation owned the majority share of a natural gas
development project on First Nations' lands.
The Sweetgrass First Nation encompasses 49,000 acres of Reserve
Land and over 4,100 acres of Treaty Land Entitlement lands.

tribes here in Southern California," said Bill Bryan, vice president,
SCE business customer division. "Through our participation in this
partnership, we seek to help foster business opportunity and growth
for the benefit of the tribes.6 million customer accounts

Edison is one of the nation's largest electric utilities, serving a
population of more than 13 million via 4.S. Under the contract, FIDC
will provide the financing, technical assessment of the natural gas
