Soldiers Wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan Will Rehabilitate Through
Adaptive Sports Programs

Disabled Sports USA (DS/USA) and Wounded Warrior Project (WWP)
tomorrow will announce a partnership to provide a year-long sports and
recreation program for soldiers from all branches of the military, who
were severely injured during the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan."

The program also
sponsors adaptive sports clinics and activities that assist the
veterans during their rehabilitation process. The organization is the nation's largest multi-sport,
multi-disability organization and serves more than 60,000 people
nationwide. DS/USA also offers sports rehabilitation programs
through its nationwide network of over 80 community-based chapters.

world games, including 12 who competed on behalf of the United States."
Bob Costas, Dan Marino, Cris Carter and Cris Collinsworth from
HBO's Inside the NFL will be in attendance to celebrate the

Other NSCD alums that brought home medals included
Michael Milton of the United Kingdom, who won Silver in Men's Standing
Downhill; Kevin Bramble of the United States, who won Gold in Men's Sitting
Downhill racing; and Toby Kane, also representing Britain, who skied to a
Bronze medal finish in the Men's Standing Super-G event.
The NSCD competition center, led by Erik Peterson and his dynamic team,
identifies and trains world-class disabled athletes in Winter Park and around
the country. The NSCD has been a trend-setter and
leader in the industry of therapeutic recreation, and has grown into a
nationally-recognized agency serving children and adults with disabilities
