Each year, the AACCA executive and rules committees review all safety
rules following the basketball season and make necessary changes for the
following academic school year, effective June 1 of that same year. In addition to a committee review of high school and college
cheerleading safety rules, AACCA offers safety certification and training for
cheerleading coaches at all levels. Local hotel information is also included in the ticket
application. "The Detroit area and the entire state of Michigan have tremendous
collegiate, high school and youth wrestling programs. All-session
ticket packages are $150, $130 and $120.

The immediate recommendation by the AACCA Executive Committee is as
follows:

"2-1/2 high pyramids and basket tosses are prohibited in basketball venues
without the use of a mat.
Again, this recommendation is to go into effect immediately and should be
distributed to all cheerleading coaches, tournament officials and directors
and conference commissioners. "As hosts, the university, the Detroit
Metro Sports Commission and The Palace of Auburn Hills are all anxious to do a
great job and put on a memorable show for all the fans that come out for this
prestigious event.

Collegiate wrestling's popularity has continued to rise, and it is
expected that the 2007 event at The Palace of Auburn Hills will be a sell-out
as in past years at other venues including the 2006 championships that end

New guidelines apply to cheerleading performances at all conference basketball

"In light of recent events, the American Association of Cheerleading
Coaches and Administrators Executive Committee has decided to make a
recommendation , effective immediately, that will extend throughout the
remainder of basketball season, including tournament play. In
addition to the overall rules review process, specific recommendations and/or
requests to review practice or performance situations go before the board for
analysis and possible action in the form of a formal change to guidelines.
"We are very excited about this opportunity to bring the NCAA Division I
Wrestling Championships to the state of Michigan," said University of Michigan
