Background: The sheet of 16 stamps depicts eight children's book
animals: the caterpillar from The Very Hungry Caterpillar;
Maisy from Maisy's ABC; Curious George from Curious George
Flies a Kite; Oliva the piglet from Olivia; Max from Where
the Wild Things Are; Wilbur the pig from Charlotte's Web;
Frederick the mouse from Frederick; and, the trick red fox
from Dr. It contains more than 3,000 pieces of original
artwork and promotes literacy through educational programs
for children and adults by utilizing its preeminent
collection of original art from children's picture books.
