SBA Launches New Faith-Based and Community Initiatives Center


As part of the initiative, all current technical assistance grant
recipients -- including SCORE, Women's Business Centers, and Small Business
Development Centers -- have extended their programs to faith-based and other
non -profit organizations that focus a significant portion of their activities
on aiding small businesses .
Hosted by the Silicon Valley Chapter of HTCIA, the International
Conference and Expo offers an annual, low-cost opportunity for law
enforcement, corporate security investigators and homeland security
administrators to address issues surrounding investigations, apprehension and
preventative methodologies associated with the newest breed of high technology
criminals.org.
The conference is considered one of the premier training opportunities for
members of law enforcement and private industry involved in the field of high
tech investigations.

Only non-profit corporations, active Stewardship Communities and
organizations that are active members of a Stewardship Community may apply. Applications are available online. Small Business Administration
has created a Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives to help non-
profit, grassroots organizations learn about and access SBA-backed programs
and loans.
The initiative is designed to open government programs to these organizations
by ensuring that grassroots leaders can compete on equal footing for federal
dollars, receive greater private support and face fewer bureaucratic barriers.

DETROIT , MotorCities National Heritage Area
(MotorCities), a Congressionally designated organization promoting and
protecting Michigan's automotive heritage, is currently accepting applications
for its 5th Annual 2006 Grants Program, offering a total of $50,000 this year,
$35,000 in Grants and $15,000 in Mini Grants.
To date, MotorCities has awarded over $270,000 to develop projects that
improve auto-heritage related activities by enhancing revitalization efforts,
expanding educational initiatives and broadening tourism programs.
Each dollar in grant funds must be matched at least dollar for dollar locally.
